“UNFAMILIAR”
A collection of digitally-manipulated images which explore the connection between the familiar and unfamiliar physical spaces that depict liminality; the transitional spaces between one destination and the next. Flores develops narratives by emphasizing subtleties within his photos by altering recognizable subjects such as landscapes and interior spaces. By inducing a sense of estrangement, nostalgia, surrealism and the uncanny, Flores allows his viewers to focus their attention on their own perception and presenting them with questions of fiction or reality, spontaneity and artistic process.
